The area’s dramatic landscapes offer thrilling adventures – from cycling through Hell’s Gate National Park’s towering red cliffs and geothermal steam vents to hiking through prehistoric rock formations at Mount Longonot. Tour Plan
Arrive at your chosen lakeside lodge where the resident hippos' grunts welcome you to this freshwater paradise. After check-in, take a guided nature walk along the shoreline, spotting waterbucks and vibrant malachite kingfishers. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner cruise to spot hippos surfacing in the golden light, followed by a farm-to-table dinner featuring fresh produce from the Rift Valley.
Fuel up with breakfast before cycling through Hell's Gate National Park, pedaling between towering red cliffs where geothermal steam vents hiss and rock hyraxes scurry. Hike through the park's dramatic gorges that inspired Disney's Lion King. After lunch at your lodge, embark on an afternoon boat ride to Crescent Island for a unique walking safari among grazing zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes with the lake's sparkling waters as your backdrop.
Early morning optional hike up Mount Longonot's volcanic crater (extra fee), rewarded with panoramic views of the entire Rift Valley. Return to your lodge for a hearty brunch before checking out, perhaps stopping at Kikopey's famous nyama choma (grilled meat) spot on your journey back.
